Wreaths were laid and services held across the Shotley peninsula as respects were shown on Remembrance Sunday.

Nine families were also able to have their loved ones' ashes scattered in a special dedication service at Shotley marina.

The annual event, organised by HMS Ganges Association and Shotley marina staff, was conducted by Reverend Canon Liesbeth Oosterhof.

A bugler from the Royal Hospital School superbly played the Last Post and Reveille to the small gathering of families and friends, along with standard bearers from the Ganges Association.

Chief Petty Offer Shaun Sams gave the salute as the ashes were scattered from a boat owned by the Taylor family, with patriarch Peter a key member of the Association who started the tradition.

The event captured by drone pilot Luke Macaulay from Holbrook.Watch it here...
