Don't miss your chance to apply for more than £25,000 of funding available for community projects in the Coast & Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty which includes the Shotley peninsula.

Community groups, organisations and individuals are invited to apply for grant funding from the Sustainable Development Fund, which supports communities in the Coast & Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).

Each year, more than £100,000 is awarded to community projects across Essex and Suffolk from the Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The money has been used to fund a wide range of projects that have benefited people, wildlife, nature, and the landscape.

Whether you have a project that covers topics such as wildlife conservation, access and diversity, climate change, health and wellbeing, learning, or heritage, your application is most welcome.

Individuals as well as organisations such as schools, businesses and community groups can all apply for funding from the Sustainable Development Fund so long as the project aims to conserve and enhance the natural beauty of the area.

Previous examples of projects funded include art workshops for people with mental illnesses, new fencing and gates for nature and wildlife reserves, guided walks, outdoor education, and training for young people, as well as visitor information at well-known landmarks in the area.

The closing date for applications is Wednesday 12th October 2022 and application forms online. For more information about the Sustainable Development Fund, criteria, funding guidelines and application forms, please visit www.suffolkcoastandheaths.org/managing.

To discuss your application further or to ask questions, please contact Oka Last, Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty Grants Officer, on 01394 445225 or [email protected].
