Where to go and what to do this Father's Day weekend across the Shotley peninsula

Welcome to your weekly what's on round up for the Shotley peninsula sponsored by The Red Lion in Chelmondiston
Every Thursday we collate all the eye-catching events occurring in this area over the weekend.

Start with a free drink to help celebrate the completion of one year of running The Red Lion .enjoy a complimentary glass of house wine and a pint with a main course thought June.
The Red Lion serves all the pub classics along with interesting dishes created around seasonal ingredients and local produce as much as possible. Children and friendly, and dog-friendly there is also have a beautiful courtyard where you can enjoy a glass of wine or a pint or two.
They serve traditional Indian thali every Friday night and a delicious roast every Sunday.
The ever popular Harkstead Market is back on Saturday morning with its mix of stalls offering artisan food, arts, crafts and refreshments available. Starts at 9am at Harkstead village hall, until midday.
For the more classically minded, the Royal Hospital School is performing two pieces by its patron, John Rutter CBE and they even more excited by the fact that he will be joining the school's musicians as a special guest on the night.
There is plenty to do on Saturday too, with a Table Top sale at Chelmondiston's village hall Come and support Basic Life hosted by the Chelmondiston WI.
If bangers and beer is more to your taste, then pop down to the Butt & Oyster this weekend.
If Arts and Crafts is your thing then get along to St Mary's Church on Saturday or Sunday (or both) for a Shotley Pier fundraiser, with some money going to the church.
Fathers' Day on Sunday is also packed with choice of things to do in addition to the events above.
Bond with your dad and get active at Constable Park with various water sports and traditional ploughman's lunch.
For those looking for something more laid back, how about taking Father to St Andrew's in Chelmondiston for Shanty Singing at an open church event for all the family.
Meanwhile, The Shipwreck at Shotley marina is open for dog walkers, ramblers, sailors, sightseers and cyclists all weekend.
Plenty of outside seating with fascinating two counties views across the estuary.
Pop in for a meal, hot drink, or something a bit stronger to make your dad happy.
