Welcome to your weekly what's on round up for the Shotley peninsula sponsored by The Red Lion in Chelmondiston

Every Thursday we collate all the eye-catching events occurring in this area over the weekend.

Family fun days, a summer market, and a quiz, happening on the stunning Shotley peninsula this coming week.

Continuing today, your children will love Smartypants crafts play sessions run by two experienced child minders in Alex and Charlotte.

They are welcoming children aged five -11 (and younger if older siblings will be attending.)

Carry on with the summer fun activities at Wherstead park , while the grown up browse the market in a free family fun in the park event on Saturday 29th July for a whole heap of fun and games for kids of all ages to enjoy.

The giant outdoor LED screen will be showing two, back to back classic family movies

Mary Poppins Returns and Paddington will be shown throughout the day on the giant outdoor screen, and for the grown ups a fully licensed bar and vendors selling delicious food.

It's a day of fun and frolics you'll definitely want to add to your summer calendar.

Friday night is the guaranteed tasty Thali night at The Red Lion in Chelmondiston, in addition to its usual menu.

The Red Lion serves all the pub classics along with interesting dishes created around seasonal ingredients and local produce as much as possible. Children and dog friendly, there is also have a beautiful courtyard where you can enjoy a glass of wine or a pint or two.

On Monday afternoon Tom with his Tot Rock is just one of the attractions at Shotley's Pop Up library.

Meanwhile, The Shipwreck is open for dog walkers, ramblers, sailors, sightseers and cyclists all weekend.

Plenty of outside seating with fascinating two counties views across the estuary.

Pop in for a meal, hot drink, or something a bit stronger.
