As well as wonderful scenery, great walks and pubs to visit, there are lots of things to do across the stunning Shotley peninsula this weekend, choose from our What's On page here.

These include charity fundraisers in Holbrook and Shotley and an in depth talk about Freston's neolithic dig

If you fancy getting out and about around the Shotley peninsula over the next few days, here are some of our picks.

Charity Race Night

Have a flutter on the gee-gees with your pals and raise money for Holbrook's new Reade Field pavilion and the East Anglian Air Ambulance.

Come along and enjoy coffee, cake and chat with the Shotley & Erwarton WI.

Funds raised will go towards the Lighthouse women's aid charity.
