A Canterbury Cathedral chorister gave his own personal tribute to carers and NHS staff by performing 'Somewhere Over The Rainbow' outside his house in Woolverstone last night.

James Hodgkinson, aged 12, of Main Road in the village, struck a chord with his neighbours, who came out to take part in the weekly #clapforourcarers, while staff from Spring Lodge Care Home, also came out to thank those thanking them.

Chris Hodgkinson, James' father, said: "James is really missing singing with the Cathedral so he wanted to do this.

"He is really keen to make the best use of his voice for the NHS and we are exploring ays we can raise money for all the magnificent staff and carers. Any suggestions would b welcome."

Thousand of people on the peninsula took part in #clapforcarers accompanied by the sounds of the ships horns from Felixstowe and Harwich docks.
