Traffic hold ups getting into town after cyclists killed

Peninsula motorists are experiencing hold ups getting into Ipswich this morning after a cyclist was killed last night.

The roundabout near the roundabout at Hawes Street off Wherstead Road is closed following the incident at the junction near Vernon Street. 

Police were called to road traffic accident at just before 10pm last night on Vernon Street in Ipswich. Involving multiple vehicles and a pedal cyclist.

Police Ambulance and fire service all attended.

One person has been pronounced deceased at the scene. Two males have been detained. 

Road closed stoke bridge heading out of town to Hawes St roundabout. 

Police are looking for any witness to make contact via 101 using reference.SC-13102022-399
