Our county has its very own breed of horse. Originally bred as draught horses, dating back to at least 1506 the Suffolk Punch horses are known for their gentle and hardworking nature, being chestnut in colour, and very stocky. Amazingly, the male line of Suffolk Punches can be traced back to just one stallion.
