Three of the peninsula's four ward councillors have been named in Babergh's new cabinet described as having "passion, experience and expertise".

Derek Davis (Ganges) returns for a third time, and has been handed the Economic Growth portfolio, newly elected Green councillor Daniel Potter (Orwell) will look after the Environment position, while Alastair McCraw (Brantham) retains the customer service role.

The Green, Independent and Liberal Democrat groups agreed to power-share for the next four years after no party achieved an overall majority in the May 4 elections.

Cllr David Busby (Liberal Democrat) has already been elected leader for the first year of the council term, with Cllr Deborah Saw (Green) and Cllr John Ward (Independent) his deputies.
