A peninsula takeaway owner is offering a 15% discount to all carers and NHS staff.

Mohammed Ali, who owns the Lasan in Kingsland, Shotley,

has made the offer to support frontline workers, which includes family members who are employed at Ipswich Hospital.

"This is just our small way of showing support for all our amazing NHS staff and all those carers who live and work on the peninsula," said Mr Ali. "Ideally we would like to have done more but like many businesses this is a difficult time for us all."

While the Lasan specialises in Indian food, it also serves the full gambit of English chip suppers, including fish, pies, sausages, fish cakes, chicken wraps and chicken nuggets.

The takeaways should be ordered ahead on 787033 and collected, observing the social distancing guidance, with one customer collecting at one time, or orders of more than £20 can be delivered, to homes in Shotley, Erwarton and Chelmondiston.

The offer starts on Wednesday, April 29 and customers claiming the 15% discount may be asked for ID.
