Felixstowe-based Suffolk Sound radio station has been recognised by Brave Futures with a certificate of thanks for its invaluable contribution to the charity's launch of the "1 in 10 campaign".

Brave Futures is an Ipswich-based specialist support service for children and young people up to the age of 18 who have experienced sexual abuse.

The recognition comes following a successful partnership that saw Suffolk Sound work closely with the fundraising and marketing team at Brave Futures over three months.

The campaign's aims were to make everyone aware that one in 10 children in the UK experience sexual abuse before the age of 16.

By having such a close working relationship with Suffolk Sound, Brave Futures was able to raise awareness about the important issue and let the local community know about the vital work it does.

"We are truly grateful for the support and dedication shown by Suffolk Sound throughout the campaign," said Hannah Walker, Brave Futures' Fundraising and Marketing Manager.

"Their enthusiasm and commitment to highlight the work we do have been instrumental in getting the message out to a wider audience in the fight against child sexual abuse."

During the efforts between Suffolk Sound and Brave Futures, the radio station played an important role in giving out critical information about the charity's mission and the importance of addressing child sexual abuse throughout Suffolk and Norfolk.

Through a series of broadcasts and interviews, Suffolk Sound encouraged listeners to get involved and support Brave Futures' work.

"We are delighted to have had the opportunity to partner with Brave Futures in bringing attention such an important issue affecting our community," said Rob Dunger from Suffolk Sound. "The work being done by Brave Futures is truly inspiring, and we are proud to have played a part in working with them to highlight the need to address child sexual abuse."

The certificate of thanks, awarded to Suffolk Sound, serves as a testament to the station's exceptional commitment to community engagement. Both Brave Futures and Suffolk Sound remain dedicated to continuing their joint efforts in raising awareness of child sexual abuse and create safer and healthier futures for children in Suffolk and Norfolk.
