Two years ago today Shotley peninsula Nub News was born and boy how we have grown.

We have gone from a hobby site to professional news platform, now recognised as the number one Google-ranked site where people come to for their Shotley peninsula news.

They also want to know What's On with our page of forthcoming events, property, sport, features, jobs, live travel, and Local List business directory.

Backed by our amazing sponsors, Wavensmere and Galliard, the Shotley Marina, The Outlook and Chapman and Stickels, and advertisers like Chim-Chimney, peninsula Nub News attracts more than 11,000 unique users on a regular basis.

We have nearly 1,800 newsletter subscribers who get the best stories emailed to their in-box every Friday.

Thousands follow us on social media and in two years we have had almost 220,000+ unique users, with more than 841,000 page views, according to Google Analytics, and we are continuing to grow.

While the vast majority of our readers come from the 10,000 population living on the peninsula, aged from 16 to 96, and of course those living nearby in Felixstowe and Hadleigh but also across the borders in Essex and Norfolk.

We also have visitors from London but more surprisingly is the number of people from far flung cities such as Stockholm, Phnom Penh, Lagos, Melbourne, Lulea, Fort Worth, Irvine, Ashburn, Mountain View, Altoona, Geilenkirchen and Dublin.

This is along with Newcastle, Manchester, Portsmouth, Belfast, Cardiff and Glasgow in the UK - to mention but a few - all confirmed by Google Analytics.

Nub News is unique insomuch that you can add articles, letters, pictures features, your club, group or organisation updates by using the black Nub It button on the home news page here.

Add your upcoming event, for free, by using the black Nub It button on the What's On page here.

We also offer a free business listing in our Local List directory, again add yours with your logo by choosing the best category for you and using the black Nub It button here.

We have covered a vast array of stories from human interest stories, Up Close features, planning matters, council issues, sport stuff, the quirky, the fun, the fascination and of course every day our Breakfast Briefings keep you up with tide times, weather, opening times for shops, the Holbrook and Shotley doctors' surgeries and more fun facts, all designed to put a smile on your face, inform and entertain.

So thank you one and all for making Shotley peninsula Nub News the success it has become, and helping us grow our Suffolk sister sites in Hadleigh and Felixstowe too.
