Staying at home picnic pictures to mark VE Day 75

By Derek Davis

9th May 2020 | Local News

The sun shone down on the peninsula as the VE Day stay at home picnics and parties got into full swing.

Tea, cakes, sandwiches and a drop of something stronger helped celebrate the 75th anniversary of Victory in Europe.

With Vera Lynn, Glenn Miller and host of other 40s classics, mixed with more modern numbers, provided the background sounds for the unusual but unforgettable anniversary celebrations.

Here are a selection of your photos, my thanks to Geraint Pugh, Brian Ives and others for sharing. Fee free to send your picnic pics to [email protected]
