A woman in her 30s has been spoken to by police after a confrontation with young teenagers in Shotley.

The woman, who Nub News is not naming for legal reasons, was seen on CCTV and by witnesses snatching a phone from a youngster's hands yelling at them in Kingsland over the weekend.

Police were called and the phone returned

Police confirmed the incident had been dealt with.

A police spokesperson told Nub News: "On the evening of the 15th an altercation that had taken place earlier in the Street, Shotley was reported to us. This included reports a phone had been taken from an individual.

"Officers investigated and spoke to both parties. Words of advice were given as part of community resolution."

Witnesses claim the incident was not the first the woman, who is well known on the estate, has been involved in.
