Standard bearers from Shotley, lead by Royal British Legion district chairman Brian Ives and a representative from Ipswich took part in the 40 minute service.

Recorded music from the 1st Battalion of the Royal New Zealand Infantry Regiment, The Lats Digger by Michael Travers, and words from the Kemal Ataturk for the Fallen were heard on a wind afternoon at the cemetery.

The standard bearers were marked out tithe traditional Slim Dsty version of Waltzing Matilda.

A number of poppy wreaths from across Suffolk adorned the Royal Navy cemetery.

There was even a visit from a robin, who settled on the memorial for a while before the service started.
