Years of hard work continues to pay off for wild camping trail-blazers Sam and Claire Wrinch after Nether Hall Farm campsite was rated in The Times top ten sites.
Nether Hall Farm, with its 10 sites nestled among pine trees and shepherd's huts was rated ninth in the UK, and fourth best in England.
Times travel writer Phoebe Taplin described the Harkstead site as:
There's a lot of salt-marshy wilderness along the East Anglian coast, harbouring remote inlets with names such as Johnny-All-Alone Creek. Suffolk's Shotley Peninsula sees thousands of overwintering wading birds gather along the wooded foreshore with its shell carpets and weather-bleached fallen trees. Off-grid Nether Hall Farm has ten pine-shaded clearings with running water, fire pits, compost loos and hot showers to warm you up after a high-tide dip in the nearby River Stour from sandy Harkstead Beach (£30 per tent).
The Wrinches opened Nether Hall Farm wild camping in 2021 and have attracted visitors from across Europe looking for a a secluded off grid site to explore the stunning Shotley peninsula, along with the rest of Suffolk and north Essex.
