Officers arrested 10 people during a day of action carried out by the Southern Area Policing Command.

Warrants were executed in towns and villages also including Ipswich and the nearby areas, Hadleigh and Felixstowe, as part of an operation to target individuals believed to be involved in drug-related crime and violence.

A cannabis factory was located at a property during one of the warrants, while suspected drugs including cocaine, heroin and cannabis were seized, as well as cash and mobile phones.

Those detained on the day were arrested for offences including being concerned in the supply of controlled substances and possession with intent to supply (PWITS) Class A and B drugs, as well as for assault.

Four people were arrested for failing to appear at court, while officers also arrested another person during the operation who was wanted for outstanding offences of assault and PWITS.

The operation involved officers from a number of teams, including proactive and response units.

Superintendent Andy Martin said: "This was a rapid operation, acting upon the most recent police and community-led intelligence.

"This shows the value of the intelligence we receive from our communities and the partners we work with, and we will always act upon this whenever we can.

"The aim was to disrupt serious criminal activity in Ipswich and the surrounding area, particularly drug-related crime and violence."
