Shotley Peninsula homes put on amazing show of Christmas cheer

An amazing display of Christmas lights on some Shotley homes has set the tone for lifting spirits across the peninsula with their multi-coloured show.

A number of houses in Kingsland and Queensland have been turning heads and wowing young and old with their stunning displays, which are even more incredible than last year.

Three houses in particular have joined together in producing a light show which Nub News believes would rival any in the country.

Sean Watchman, Kate Hubert along with neighbours Beverley and Rob Colman (pictured) have roped in another Kingsland resident in their collection of flashing Santas, reindeers, snowmen, elves and much, much more, visible for the main road in Shotley, if not the international space station.

And everyone is welcome to go along and take pictures, selfies, and even be part of he display by poking their heads through the cut out section of fence.

There is no chance Father Christmas would miss it, and there is a chance he could have landing lights on the roofs for his sleigh next year.

More homes in Kingsland, including a Santa hologram, have added to the joy, including new residents in a house opposite the trio, and homes in Queensland have joined in too.

The neighbours told Nub News how they run nearly 2,000 lights off one plug, and people have donated to charity to see the light show in the past, and they plan to raise more cash for charity in the future as they look to add even more features next Chritsmas.

Schoolchildren from Shotley primary school and Kidzone walk up to enjoy the display, and have their picture taken in the specially made cut out area.
