St Elizabeth Hospice's much-loved Light up a Life service is once again returning this Christmas.
Held annually, by the independent Suffolk charity, which also serves the Shotley peninsula, Light up a Life sees the hospice help the community celebrate the lives of loved ones, who are no longer with us, through a remembrance service hosted at St Mary-le-Tower Church in Ipswich.
Taking place between 3-4pm on Sunday 18 December, the Light up a Life service will be led by Reverend Tom Mumford of St Mary-le-Tower Church. It will also feature traditional Christmas carols and readings from supporters, as well as performances from Ipswich Hospital Community Choir and music from singer Roma Manteiga-Nicholson.
Catherine Sheppard, Supporter Campaigns Fundraiser at St Elizabeth Hospice, said: "Christmas is a time for families and friends to be together and we understand the loss of a loved one can be felt more deeply during the festive period.
"Our annual Light up a Life service allows the hospice to join with the local community to remember loved ones who have passed, celebrating their lives and reflecting on precious memories we hold close to our hearts. We look forward to welcoming all to Light up a Life this December for what will be a very special service."
As well as the remembrance service, the community is invited to write a personal message to loved ones, on special Memory Stars which will displayed on the Tree of Love at the church.
To write a dedication for the Tree of Love, please visit www.stelizabethhospice.org.uk/be-a-star/fundraising/lightupalife/ and submit your message by 14th December. Donations are encouraged, with all funds raised going towards St Elizabeth Hospice's Be a Star Christmas appeal for 2022.
