ANZAC Day was today marked with a ceremony at St Mary's Church Shotley.

Andrew Coulson led the service organised by Shotley & Erwarton Royal British Legion chairman Brian Ives, with his son Will also taking part.

Members of the Royal British Legion and age Returned Services Association (New Zealand) were in attendance, along with Babergh vice chairman and the district council's Ganges ward member Derek Davis.

The small congregation took part in a service which included the national anthems of Great Britain, New Zealand Australia, along with a Maori verse.

Prayers and hymns were also part of the service, which was held on Sunday, two days ahead of ANZAC Day..
