Today's Thames Barge Races will be the 61st hosted by Pin Mill after the competition was introduced by bargeman in 1962. Barges had been racing in the Thames in Victorian Days for 100 years ut needed in the 1950s. More than 20 barges tae part in the annual competition watched by hundreds lining the rivers Orwell and Stour.
