Saturday's Peninsula Breakfast Briefing

By Derek Davis

21st Nov 2020 | Local News

On This Day: in 1918, the German Fleet was surrendered to Britain at its northern naval base at Scapa Flow, at the end of World War I. That led to the entire German submarine fleet surrendering to Admiral Reginald Tyrwhitt, who escorted them in the Stour estuary where nearly 150 U-boats were moored up at Shotley and Harwich.
