Residents at a care home in Stutton escaped unhurt in the middle of the night after a fire broke out in a flat.

Holbrook firefighters, along with crews from Ipswich, went to Oak House in Bentley Lane, Stutton, at 3.42 in the morning to tackle the fire.

Four firefighters went into the building in breathing apparatus to fight the flames and two water hose reel jets were also used.

All the residents were taken care of by staff who quickly accounted for them all.

The fire crews were stood down at 4.51am.
