Passengers using the foot and cycle ferry from Shotley will be relieved to learn the public toilets in Harwich have reopened.

The loos at the Quay, opposite Ha'penny pier, are open between 10am-4pm from today, and those travelling on to Felixstowe's Landguard point will be able to use the conveniences at the car park there too, although the cafe is not yet open.

The Shotley to Harwich and Felixstowe ferry now runs daily from 10.00 to 16.00, check website here for timetable and details.

Meanwhile, the Ha'penny Pier pontoons, will be open to welcome visiting leisure vessels from Monday, June 1, with restrictions to ensure both visiting sailors and Harwich Haven Authority staff can use the facility safely.

The key restrictions(found here) include: no overnight stays and no access to toilet or shower facilities.

Babergh District Council public conveniences remain closed until further notice.
