Blues singer Martin McNeil has been shortlisted in the UK Blues Award for 2024 in the Acoustic Blues Act of the Year category.

Martin is among the top five performers named as a finalist in the industry's prestigious awards in the category sponsored by the Goin' Up the Country Blues Club.

Public voting to choose the winner will begin on February 10 on the UK Blues Awards website here..., with the final will be held The Stable In Milton Keynes on 25 April.

Martin is a regular performer at the Wheatsheaf's Blues, Beer and Beetroot annual charity event and his solo show last summer was another huge success.

A former newspaper editor, Martin took up touring around Suffolk and Essex after he retired and has built up a solid cult following among the Blues and Folk contingent.
