Public meeting called to discuss Queen's Platinum Jubilee event in village

Shotley villagers have been invited to attend meeting discuss plan to orange an event for the Queens Platinum Jubilee

Parish councillors Jeanette Briscoe and Craig Mills will be hosting the meeting at the Shotley Vineyard, at the bottom on Frogs Alley, next Monday, February 28 at 7pm

It is hoped the event, organised for Saturday June 4 June, will bring the whole village together and celebrate Queen Elizabeth II being on the throne for 70 years.

Any small businesses or organisations that may wish to take part are also welcome.

Shotley residents are also being encouraged to put out flags, bunting or just a small union jack in their windows for the long weekend.

Other villages on the peninsula re also organising their events with Chelmondiston put on jamboree at the playing filled on Friday 3 June.
