Police have launched an investigation after a Emergency services have been called to a car submerged in the reservoir at Alton Water. 

The vehicle was discovered on Tuesday afternoon and Holbrook fire crews were among appliance sent to the scene.

The car was found in the water close to the Birchwood car park and they would be looking into the circumstances.

A Suffolk police spokesman said: "The car will remain in place until it is removed by the appropriate authority."

Crews from Woodbridge and Ipswich joined Holbrook, with the service staying on site for two and half hours.
