Peninsula rock legend makes haircut vow if football double dream comes off

Rock legend Rick Wakeman has vowed to lob off his iconic locks if his unique football double dream comes true today.

Famed keyboard players, songwriter and presenter Rick, who now lives on the Shotley peninsula, is a lifetime Brentford fan and is hoping the Bees win promotion to the Premier League via the play-off final against Swansea at Wembley this afternoon.

And his day would be complete if west London rivals Chelsea are beaten in the Champions League final by Manchester City in Porto this evening.

Rick tweeted: "a double football massive day .....and the dream for me would be City winning the Champions League and Brentford winning the Championship Final and be promoted to the Premier . If this dream comes true I will have a short back and sides ....and that's a promise !"

Rick, who celebrated his 72nd birthday earlier this month, is still incredibly busy have recently filmed anew series of Rick's Plaice.

The former keyboard player with 'Yes' and the 'Strawbs' who went on to enjoy a hugely successful solo career is still making music and is back in the studio.

Lorraine and her staff at Chelmondiston hairdressers Hers and Sirs could well have a celebrity client next week.
