This year's much-anticipated Shotley panto has been postponed.

The 'Almost Panto', which was due to start on Thursday, has had to be called off due to a Covid outbreak among some of the cast and crew.

Producer, director and organiser Mandy Peters today confirmed the postponement but has vowed the show will go on at a new date to be arranged.

Mandy said: "When we started rehearsals I knew there was a possibility we could fall foul of covid. The children are extremely disappointed, as are most of the adults."

Anyone with tickets can use them for the new show, or get refund from where they purchased them.

The coronavirus has put paid to the acclaimed panto since early 2020 and here is a taste of the last show put on by Shotley Drama Group.
