Peninsula Job of the week: Senior site manager sought to oversee nearby project

A skilled senior site manager living on the Shotley peninsula, or within a 45 minute commute to Ipswich is being sought to project manage a huge new building project.

Having recently secured a contract for a £1m Value new build care home extension -and the light refurbishment of a care home in Ipswich, the senior site manager would oversee the project, which is due to commence in January and run for 50 weeks.

The ideal candidate will live within a 45 minute commute of Ipswich and will be able to demonstrate experience of managing building contracts in controlled environments such as hospitals, care homes or schools where there are vulnerable residents, occupiers or users.

It is essential that the Site Manager has proven experience of successfully delivering projects on time and to the best quality where daily liaison is required with the building management team to ensure that daily or weekly work plans and segregation procedures are agreed prior to any work being undertaken.

A strong candidate will:

Ideally come from a trade background and/or have experience of training in a construction background.

Formal qualifications in construction.

Have evidence of training in both health and safety, environmental and quality management

SMSTS and first aid certification.
