From a 15-year-old girl making her singing debut to an 86-year-old man showing off his Coronation mug from 70 years ago, the peninsula offered a huge range of events to celebrate King Charles II being crowned.

See who you know in our round up in pictures of the Coronation events in Shotley and Brantham.

Roger Cushing and wife Carol were celebrating the Kings crowning, and brought with him a Coronation souvenir presented to him as a 16-year-old in 1953.

At the other end of the age scale was 15-year-old Skye Colwill who made her live singing debut in front of a packed Shotley village hall.

Syke battled through her nervousness to put on a super performance as she went through an extensive range of ballads and old favourites.

The teenager won the hearts of the audience that joined in with some of the songs.

Outside, the weather held off, and even brightened up as the Shotley and Erwarton Women's Institute held a festival of local groups and businesses.

While a bouncy castle kept the energetic youngsters amused, a range of stalls and community stands were visited by a steady stream of residents, although the turn out (like the local elections) was disappointingly low.

Kim's Cakes, Shotley Gardening Club, Sweet Treats, Chocolate Treasure, the Wood Gnome, the Shoreline Protection group, Shotley and Erwarton Good Neighbours, and the WI themselves all played a part in the event.

Remi Josselyn was crowned by Wendy Sadler as the best dressed up royal child.

The Shotley Drama Group was out in force looking to sign up some new cast and back stage volunteers as they prepare to start rehearsing for their next big show.

Bacon baps and burgers were on offer in the Rose's garden area along with refreshments, while tea and coffee was served in the main tent.
