Police last night closed off a section of the B1456 for a few hours last night following a crash.

Diversions were put in place following the incident between Bylams Lane and Richardson's Lane from around 8pm until the early hours.

One lane on the B1456 between before and after Chelmondiston was still closed this morning but controlled by traffic lights and delays are expected.

Shotley peninsula motorists driving towards Chelmondiston from the Ipswich direction were diverted down Bylams Lane then along near Harkstead before coming back up Lings Lane, or via Erwarton.

Police are investigating and more details are expected to be released today.
