A new town has been built over the weekend off the Shotley peninsula coast as part of the government's huge development policy.

Constructed by Chinese firm Liplar Foo, 1,000 homes, cinema complex, school, hospital, nuclear weapons factory and restaurants, were built using new modular techniques.

As it was offshore, planning permission was given by the Principality of Sealand and all its citizens will live tax free in the town called Sodu.

Working in conjunction with Ganges developers, a new ferry service will depart from Sodu harbour to Shotley marina and Sealand.
