New feature: Bench with a view - stunning Shotley peninsula scenery from your favourite seat

We are blessed on the Shotley peninsula with stunning views to enjoy while we are out walking or cycling.

But even the hardiest and healthiest of us enjoy taking a moment to rest on one of the bench benches dotted across the peninsula, and just sit and soak in the scenery.

Shotley peninsula Nub News would love to know from our newsletter readers which bench is your favourite and why.

Send us a picture of your best bench and the view you see from it. Let us know why that particular bench is your favourite. Perhaps it has special meaning, perhaps it reminds you of someone, or is dedicated to a loved one so please send us your two photographs (or more) and words to [email protected]

We have started you off with these views from a couple of benches in Shotley. One is on the path between Shotley gate and the dry end of the village.

Nestled within the foliage next to the path, takes us over fields of ever changing hue, sometimes with the farmer working the land. Then onto the river Orwell with its diverse activity from regattas to grain ship slowly meandering to and from Ipswich, and across to Trimley marshes and its different greens.

Another is bench installed on behalf of Shotley & Erwarton Women's Institute opposite Shotley primary school, on the junction with Old Hall Road.

The view from the WI bench also looks down towards the river and over towards Trimley marshes.
