Lasan, the popular Indian and fish and chip takeaway shop in Shotley is now open on Tuesdays after rearranging its opening days.

The Lasan will now be closed on Sundays and Mondays instead.

Owner Muhammed Ali has made the changes in order to get a break while he searches for more staff cover.

"We look forward to welcoming our customers on a Tuesday from now on." Ali told Nub News. "All our usual range of Indian meals, along with the fish and chip menu will be available."

For takeaway lovers on the Shotley peninsula the opening times will marry up with the Chinese takeaway Laws Cottage in Chelmondiston, which is open Sundays and Mondays but closed Tuesday.

Both popular takeaway venues are open Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday as usual.
