Knees up at Spring Lodge in special Pub Day

Going to the pub is something many people miss during lockdown, but Spring Lodge residents were given a treat when the pub came to them.

A fish and chip lunch was washed down with beer supplied by Shane Rolin, landlord of the Bristol Arms in Shotley Gate, who also provided pub related paraphernalia such as beer mats, beer signs, ice buckets and a retro style picture, to help bring an authentic feel to the afternoon.

Residents and staff enjoyed a pub quiz, a good old-fashioned cockney knees up singalong and tucked into bar snacks and a bit of beer sampling.

The Pub Day coincided with a dress down day with one member of staff even dressing up as a bottle of beer.
