Hundreds join prayers for Ukraine at St Andrews

Around 1,750 people joined the live Diocese in Europe Prayer service for the people of Ukraine last night.

The Prayer For Peace was led by Bishop Robert Innes with Rev'd Canon Malcolm Rogers, Chaplain of St Andrew's, Moscow, Area Dean of Russia and Ukraine and Representatives of Christ Church, Kyiv.

Revd Liesbeth Oosterhof, of the Shotley peninsula's Shoreline Benefice added: "For as long as necessary, St Andrew's Chelmondiston will host Prayers for Peace every Tuesday evening from 7.00 till 7.30pm starting next week 8th March.

"You are welcome to pop in for a few minutes or stay for half an hour. You can come to pray or to simply be quiet. You are very welcome.

In addition there will be an Ash Wednesday service in Shotley at 7.30pm.

Meanwhile, the first of the Lent Groups meeting will take place Wednesday, 9 March with "Questions Jesus asked".
