Boris Johnson was clearly taken aback when a mum from Harkstead asked him: "Why should we believe anything you say when it's been proven you're a habitual liar?"

Mumsnet founder Justine Roberts threw the prime minister with the first question of a 20 minute interview, which he stumbled over answering.

Once he recovered and waffled on about the good things he claimed he had achieved, Justine pressed him to answer the question.

He said he didn't agree with the user's conclusion or the premise of the question and added: "People throw all sorts of accusations about all sorts of things ever since I drove around with sign on the bus and they have all sorts of reasons for saying that but they just have to look at the record of what I have delivered.

The signs on the Brexit bus is a reference to the claim £350million a week would be given to the NHS instead of being given to the EU, which has never materialised.

Justine, whose parents live in Erwarton, went to 10 Downing Street to conduct the interview, which was published on YouTube, to their 77.7k users.

With portrait on Margaret Thatcher looming over the pair, Justine went on to ask more questions, which had been sent in by the millions of Mumsnet users, which included:

  • The cost of living crisis
  • Partygate
  • Removing the Nolan Principles from the Ministerial Code
  • Trust and integrity
  • His parenting skills
  • Balancing being a parent and a busy schedule
  • What was the last lie he told
  • Do you realise or care about threatening peace in Northern Ireland over the protocol?
  • What is your favourite biscuit?

Johnson also insisted he still did surgeries in his Hillingdon constituency after a resident alleged he no longer did them.

The interview, and opening question soon went viral on social media.
