A foolish fly-tipper who dumped rubbish in a Tattingstone lane has left behind potential incriminating evidence.
Motor parts, along with other assorted rubbish was dumped in the hedge and verge of a passing space on White Horse Hill, close to the junction with the A137.
Jane Gould, Babergh's Orwell ward councillor, which includes Tattingstone, said: "Fly tipping is a blight on our countryside.
"The Babergh website has an easy to use reporting tool which I would encourage people to use if they see any rubbish which has been tipped, we can all be responsible for getting these piles removed as quickly as possible.
"The unsightly pile which has been seen in Tattingstone has an address on some of the rubbish which may well help to find the culprit."
The incident has been reported to Babergh with the district council due to send a team to clean up and use the evidence on site to launch an investigation to catch the offender.
An Ipswich address was found on one of the boxes, although the person named may not be the actual fly-tipper, they will be responsible for where their rubbish is dumped.
A passer-by reported the incident to Nub News and we have passed on the evidence to Babergh.
Everyone has a legal responsibility - or 'duty of care' - to make sure that all waste from their household or business is disposed of correctly.
Some people make money by charging a fee to collect waste illegally and fly-tip it. You could face penalties of up to £5,000 if you don't check that the person or company you hire to collect waste:
- has a licence to carry waste
- is not taking it to an unlicensed site
