The first homes at a new housing development in Wherstead will go on sale in May, and you can get an early look as the developers plan to hold a digital launch of Bourne View.

Buyers who have registered their interest in the development of houses, bungalows and apartments, which are taking shape on land between Bourne Hill and the A137, will be notified when the first selection of homes are released onto the market.

Bellway is hoping to welcome visitors to the development in the autumn, when coronavirus restrictions are further lifted.

Jenny Walker, Sales Director for Bellway Essex, said: "While we would love to be able to host an official event at Bourne View and welcome buyers to the site in person, we felt a digital launch would be the safest and most appropriate way to launch the development in light of the current restrictions.

"This will enable buyers to reserve one of the first selection of homes available, and there is still time for people to register their interest to secure priority access to the digital launch.

"There has already been a huge amount of interest in the development. We are building a varied mix of properties to suit wide range of buyers, and the site is situated in an extremely attractive location just two miles south of Ipswich town centre.

"Half of the site will be taken up by a community woodland, a private wood which is being preserved and opened up to the public for the benefit of Bourne View residents and the wider community.

"We look forward to welcoming visitors to Bourne View in the autumn and completing construction work on the first homes before the end of this year."

Bellway is building a total of 75 homes on the 16.9-acre site, ranging from one to four bedrooms in size. There will be 49 properties for private sale and 26 affordable homes for rent or shared ownership.

As part of the planning agreement for the development, Bellway is providing funding of £22,000 for sustainable transport and a new pedestrian crossing on Wherstead Road.
