Three fire crews from Ipswich are dealing with a building blaze in Wherstead, moments after being called to a report of a small car fire, on nearby Freston Hill.

Suffolk's fire service was called out at 11.45 this morning after receiving an initial report of a car alight, and again one minute later, to deal with the building blaze.

Traffic was slightly delayed coming from Ipswich as the incident, close to Monkey Lodge lay-by, was dealt with, with reports of glass and other debris spread across the B1456. A witness claimed the glass came from the cab of a pick up truck, which was shunted from behind by a 4x4 vehicle, but no sign of fire.

Meanwhile, firefighters from Princes Street and Ipswich east dealt with a fire in Peppercorn Way, which is part of the old Wherstead Road.
