Demolition job in Shotley's Queensland

Demolition workers made short work of two former bungalows in Queensland.
Contractors have demolished the two buildings to make way for five new homes in the Shotley village.
The homes have been empty for more than two years as Babergh District Council sought permission to build five two bedroom social houses for rent.
Work will start on building the new homes in a few weeks and work on another smaller, site further down Queensland will begin to take down one single storey bungalow, which will be replaced for three more new two-bed houses, again fr social renting and all will be fore people with close Shotley connections.
Derek Davis, Ganges ward member who represents Shotley & Erwarton on Babergh District Council secured a provision that Shotley residents would get first refusal on three of the homes, providing they meet the housing criteria.
"We Iive in a lovely village so it is no surprise there is a large demand for homes here," said Cllr Davis. "It is good to see work begin on demolishing the old houses to make way for new homes, which I'm sure will be very popular."
