A controversial planning application to build new homes in Shotley has been re-submitted with fewer houses.

A bid to build 43 homes, on land north of the Street in the village has replaced an application for 48 houses.

The new plans include a provision for 11 two and three bedroom affordable rented homes and a further four shared-ownership semi-detached houses.

More than 120 objections have been made against the plans, (some submitted twice) and nearly 100 people attended a meeting earlier this year to voice their objections to the previous scheme.

Shotley parish council will discuss its response at a meeting on Thursday, 7pm at Shotley Village Hall, ahead of the annual meeting.

A decision will be determined by Babergh's planning committee after the May 4 election.

Details about the application can be found on the Babergh website here... Using reference: DC/22/05162
