A application to build 43 new houses, including 15 social and affordable homes, on the Shotley peninsula has been recommended for refusal by Babergh planning officers.

The site near Chapel Fields, opposite the Corner Garage, in Shotley, abuts the villages' built up area boundary and planning officers are also concerned abut potential impact on the AONB, and lack of flood information.

Babergh planning committee, made up of councillors, will hear he application at Endeavour House on Wednesday, June 26.

An application for a site visit will be made on the morning after only two of the councillors that had made a site visit earlier this year were still on the committee following the May elections.
