Coastguard and air ambulance in Orwell river rescue

By Derek Davis

10th May 2020 | Local News

An East of England Ambulance Service helicopter, Holbrook Coastguard and Suffolk Police were involved in moving a casualty from the Orwell River foreshore to an awaiting ambulance, last night.

Due to the severity of the casualty's injuries, the air ambulance needed to land and the Holbrook team set up a helicopter landing site to assist them.

Once the casualty was safely en route to the hospital the team was stood down.

In the event of an emergency along our coastline or estuaries or in mud call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.
