While the experienced marksmen were leading the way on the main field at a clay pigeon shoot in Chelmondiston, first-timers were learning how to handle a shotgun.

Young and old took full advantage of the Grove Park club's novice stand, run by British Association for Shooting and Conservation accredited instructor Simon Clarke. who offered expert and safe guidance.

Among the youngster to have a go was eight-year-old Casey Adams who, after some top tips, hit the clay targets more than once after attentively listening to Simon's advice.

At the other end of the age scale was Shotley Martin Hubbard who soon got his eye in after wise instruction.

Saturday's meeting at Hill House Farm was a competition shoot but also raised money for charity, which is still being totted up.
