UPDATED: All clear after work carried out to clear obstruction.

A large tree has fallen and blocked a carriageway on the main B1456 between Shotley and Chelmondiston, this afternoon.

Drivers are being urged to take extra care on the 40mph stretch between the junction to Wades Lane and Chelmondiston.

Vehicles are able to pass in single file but a bend near the farm track will limit visibility heading out of Chelmondiston, as other motorist manoeuvre past the tree.

Suffolk Highways have been informed, and due to the danger, especially as it gets dark, the incident is being treated as an emergency.
