Residents can find out more about the climate action they can take within the Hadleigh area at a community roadshow event next month.
In October, Babergh District Councils will be staging a Community Climate Action Roadshow at Holbrook's
It will give residents the chance to speak to local groups and organisations about climate action tips, initiatives, and opportunities in their area.
The roadshow features a series of drop-in style events across the districts.
These will primarily be on Saturdays throughout October and aim to connect residents interested in lowering their carbon footprint and supporting their local area, with organisations that can help them.
It supports the councils' and the Suffolk Climate Change Partnership's net zero ambitions by helping and encouraging communities and individuals to live more sustainably.
Locations in Babergh include:
Holbrook
Saturday 28 October
10am-1pm
Holbrook Methodist Church
Hadleigh
Saturday 14 October
2pm-5pm
Ansell Centre, Hadleigh
Sudbury
Saturday 14 October
9am-12pm
Sudbury Hive Community Hub
Stallholders will include a mix of organisations who provide a range of support and activities, such as:
- repair cafés
- isolation and community support groups
- wildlife conservation
- active travel and cycling – with the chance to try out a smoothie bike
- litter picking
- energy saving advice
- carbon reduction advice and schemes
- waste reduction
- and more
Cllr Daniel Potter, cabinet member for environment at Babergh, said: "When it comes to making more sustainable lifestyle choices and knowing what support is available, it's often about taking the first step or knowing what help and advice is out there.
"These events are a great and unique way for our local organisations to showcase the difference they're already making, as well as engage and support our local communities.
"Residents can find out more about local support to help tackle climate change already on offer and share their own ideas with us too."
A full list of stallholders will soon be available on the councils' website at www.babergh.gov.uk .
