Babergh district council planning officers have refused an outline application to build six new homes in Shotley Gate.

A householder in Gate Farm Road had applied to develop six houses on land they own behind their home close to Shotley Caravan Park and the former HMS Ganges site in the village.

However the application made earlier this year was refused as it is situated outside the built up area boundary, and deemed in the countryside by planners.

Concerns over highway safety given the proposed access to the entrance to the caravan park, how it would affect views within the Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Beauty..

Full details of decision and application can be found on the Babergh planning website here. Reference: DC/23/03900
