Workers deal with leaky pipe

Anglian Water contractors today dealt with a low pressure issue after a leaking pipe disrupted supply to residents.

Workmen dug out a large section of the The Street in Shotley on the junction with Orwell View Road before finding the leaky pipe.

A three way traffic light system was in operation as contractors from the Ipswich Utilities Company carried out the work.

The pipe was repaired this afternoon to minimise disruption to villagers.

Two water bowsers were connected to the main supply by Marsh Lane in Shotley Gate to keep water running, but residents noticed low pressure and some discolouring.
